I think I realized one of the things that has been tripping me up as I study French. I learned German for 4 years, so the rules and habits of German are still somewhat ingrained in me. In German, "die" is feminine, so words ending with "e" are often feminine, and adjectives and other words often end with "e" when you're using a feminine word. "(Die blaue Katze or Eine blaue Katze). But in French, le is masculine, so words ending with "e" are often masculine, and adjectives and so on often end with "e" when you're using a masculine word. So I keep getting confused.
