part 353 whalers on the moon

We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

Enjoy part 353!

I'm so pumped for this game! Though yeah, my enthusiasm has been dampened by all the announcements of exciting, new... removals of old basic features.

I haven't bothered with Sims games in a long time but I'm already poking around seeing which cc hairs are around that might work for Hetalia characters (I imagine there's going to be quite a lot of TS3 -> TS4 cc converting going on). Came across lots of good possibilities for Spain, England, France, Prussia, the Italies... pity I can't find anything that really works for America.

Also I binge-watched a ton of TS3 speed build videos on Youtube last night and holy shit I am so impressed. Also, is it just me, or are a lot of the more prolific builders Australian? Is The Sims especially popular in Australia? Or architecture in general? Man, I want to shoehorn this inane (and probably inaccurate; it's just that I keep running across Australian simmers) observation into headcanon but then again it conflicts with my existing headcanon - I mean, I've always thought Hetalia's Australia is a rough-and-tumble outdoorsy type who prefers crocodile wrestling to computer games and tents or cabins or something over meticulously designed modern homes. I mean, I can't quite see him huddling there fastidiously centering the bitsy pixel people ceiling lights and angsting over wall treatment choices for the foyer.

But whatever, screw this, everybody in Hetalia should play sims - I mean the nations playing the game, I can quite easily imagine nations enjoying the little power trip, like, you know, making distinctly unflattering sim representations of other nations, and making other nations piss themselves over and over, and... and who needs diplomacy when you can so easily resolve international disputes via cowplant? The secret to world domination peace: cowplants.

Oh fuck it's like 2am bluuuuuuurgh

13 Ways to Feel Better About USA Losing to Belgium

(Anonymous) 2014-07-03 08:25 am (UTC)(link)
Locate Belgium on a map, go there, make a friend and never speak to him again.

Remember that new US soccer season is only (????) months away!

Order some waffles at IHOP. When they come, insist you said pancakes and watch them throw em in the trash.

Call the Tim Howard closest to you and ask him to tell the real Tim Howard you said, “Good job.”

Punch a wall using only your head.

Have sex with your significant other but blow a whistle and say “No hands!” any time they try something.

Fly a kite into little kids’ kites until those kites are too damaged to fly.

Masturbate a bunch?

Forget about the US for a little while by burning all your flags.

Start a rumor that you slept with Belgium’s wife.

Remember we lead Belgium in Kate Uptons 1:0.

Build your own World Cup with hair scraps from the barber shop.

Remember that you didn’t care about this a month ago.

I hate "opposites attract" pairings

They're common in all fandoms but especially this one

Whatever drink has espresso and tons of milk. I love caramel macchiatos and white chocolate mochas, but I do not like all that whipped cream and syrup shit on top.

I agree with what the other RPers have said, even though I am new to RPing this character (hence why his characterization is probably shaky). Tags with actions are easy to build off of. It's also easier to keep a thread going if there is a certain chain of actions/dialogue taking place - not necessarily plot but plot would help.

Of course never be afraid to end a thread with me if it seems to have already finished. I need to get better at that myself but that's because I like to confirm elsewhere that it's okay to end threads if it's my turn to reply. But if it's your turn and you're done with the thread, go ahead and finish it. I am not offended at all by abrupt endings!

I would like him to get new questions besides what about the 21st century shocked you? when I do the Q&A threads. There's only so many different ways to express his reaction to how things have changed.

I don't understand why people won't give permission, because hey more traffic,
but then I think of the language barrier and people taking that permission to do more than just post a picture and a link to reblog, along with people who just post the art and no source. So I guess it might make sense to say no? I don't know.

But I'm tempted to start using this one for other sports now

Sometimes I wonder how many of those "posted with permission" post were ACTUALLY posted with permission
...or if the blogger is lying about it.

I don't think all nations fight in every war their people are in, and I don't think treaties ever meant anything personally between the nations, just and agreement between their governments.

Does anyone actually think this, rather than using it as a convenient setup for fic?
