idk because i usually see things like 'oh, here's an opportunity to skew it this way in a fanfic!' but not necessarily like 'oh, here's canon subtext PROOF of the pairing!' if that makes sense? i tend to be more conservative when it comes to my actual interpretation of what happened in canon (i.e. unless it's OVERWHELMING subtext on the level of gerita in hetalia, i'll consider it open) versus what's good fap/fic fodder.

How do they travel huge distances in such a short time on their own? Like Italy running all the way to Germany's house on his own in the space of one night.

I think it can take awhile depending on how they "died" or how serious their injuries are. Like from a few hours to a few days to a few weeks, etc. And I think it can be really, really painful as well, especially regenerating limbs and sometimes coming back to life.

Super speed, of course. But seriously, I think they travel normally like humans do, but if they really want to be somewhere, I'll use the cop-out and say magic. Time probably also works differently with them, seeing how some look like they're still young adults, despite being around hundreds of years. So what could be a few hours for us, could be a few minutes for them.

I haven't really thought about their metabolisms. I feel they're pretty fast or at least, they, again, work differently than ours.

Honestly, I feel like they're not always affected by recessions i.e colds. Otherwise a lot of countries would always be sick, or very ill. I do believe they can get sick like humans can (being out in the cold/rain too long, just general sicknesses in general. There are times where their economy can affect them, but just not as often.

A quick sub/dub comparison

All this talk of the dub reminded me that back when the DVDs came out, I looked at a random scene and made a sub/dub comparison to see how much had changed in the dubbing process. I'll make a dummy and post the subtitles on the Funimation DVD first, followed by a transcript of the dub.

The scene is America's weight loss attempt.

Calling all people in the aph Nordic 5 fandom who are not Nordic themselves and due to not being Nordic/Scandinavian have felt intimidated and excluded by those in the fandom who live in the Nordic region.

I guess someone might feel like an outsider if Nordic fans are talking about cultural etc. things that are hard to understand without personal experience? I have actually seen a bunch of fans from various countries imply that you'll never be able to understand the characters like they do because you lack the cultural and social knowledge that, by the nature of Hetalia, should be an essential part of the character.

For what it's worth, I totally disagree with that. All I care about is what Himaruya has said about the characters. Additional cultural headcanons and so on are fun, but I want to give a big fuck you to everyone who thinks their headcanons are better because they're from that country.
