nah, i doubt it. there was media coverage over that one artist who supposedly was "fatphobic" for drawing rose quartz "skinny" and was bullied so much over it that she attempted suicide.

i've seen the art; she wasn't, but even if she was it really did not warrant the level of hatemail, hate confessions, and other commentary about her - this is another thing fandom really needs to learn, even if you have a legitimate reason to dislike someone that STILL doesn't give you a carte blanche to be a dick about it! just stay away from them, don't reblog their stuff, you don't have to harass them or start a campaign against them. i'm disgusted that a lot of people reacted to that incident with "well that artist really was problematic, one time she drew a character with feathers in her hair and that's cultural appropriation so that means it's totally justified for all these people to send her hatemail" what. the. fuck.

listen, this shit isn't justice what it is is using "social justice" as an excuse to be a bully and abuse somebody, because as long as you can tell yourself they're "wrong" then somehow it makes every mean thing you do seem "right." and that's simply not true.

in more common instances i've seen artists who didn't leave but were shamed into apologizing repeatedly for stupid things that they shouldn't have to apologize for.

touken ranbu anime #1, which is coming out in october

ok, ok, i will say i'm more looking forward to touken ranbu anime #2 which is the presumably more epic battle drama one (by the studio who did fate stay night), but i will also enjoy this slice-of-life light comedy one (which is by the studio who did Gekkan Shoujo).

interesting how they've split up the characters to focus on, seems like for slice of life they've chosen the younger (well, younger-looking) ones for the main roles. surprised not to see crane boy at all, given his personality i would've thought for sure he'd play a role in this. but it's only a teaser. (and i guess if i'm thinking of it like that... kashuu actually has a more dramatic/tragic backstory, and he's one of the two main leads for this).

anyone else here a tourabu fan? what do you think?
