Well shit. Not like they where distributing them in my country, but that's a pretty shitty news. My guess is that people will have to order either via amiami or from someone who lives in Japan but I heard those are expensive as hell.

Huh. Okay, I guess that kind of makes sense. Although I do wonder what happens to accounts that don't verify the email. Do they get deleted after a while or something?

Also, after some googling I'm pretty sure there is a spam version of the e-mail out there (identical content, but sent from something like no-reply@tmblr.com and obviously with a false link). So it's definitely worth double-checking the sender's mail address!

Do you delete older fic, from your ffn account, livejournal, or other sources? Or do you leave it up? Why?

i'm still sad i didn't save the fic of a particular author before she deleted everything.

however i understand. she had started writing original fiction. as i understand it, she had been considering self publishing. and she had a lot of (great!) fic up involving underaged characters, sometimes with older characters, which i'm sure she soon realized could be a point of scandal or embarrassment if she got big writing her own stuff. and she had given some details in her personal posts, like which school she graduated from and such, that i would advise against to ANYONE, given the current fandom atmosphere with the threat of doxxing.

even if you write very vanilla un-"problematic" pairings, consider what it would feel like if someone used the bits of personal info you've given to find out your real name, contact your family members or your boss, to be like HEY CHECK OUT [X]'S GAY ANIME NATION PERSONIFICATION PORN.

so... i totally understand her choice, and though i'm sad and honestly just really wish she had been more private on her blog so that she wouldn't have needed to take such a drastic precaution, i get it.

i myself am very paranoid about fandom these days. i change my writing and punctuation style for different aliases (for example, whether i use an oxford comma; what sort of dash i use and if i put spaces around it; if i write in all lowercase) and i keep different aliases per fandom, and i've outright lied about details of my life to make sure of my anonymity. i never show my face. i would advise others to do the same. especially after what happened with that one writer in wtnv fandom.
